Gold Fillament

The use of pure gold as an implant is not a new idea and has been with us since Ancient Egyptian times. It is based on the introduction of fine pure gold filaments (99,999% purity ), in sub dermal level, associated to a thread of braided polyglycolic acid, which is absorbable, or PVDF, which reinforces the effect of gold filament. The fundamental function of these associated threads is to avoid gold filament breaking, supporting the traction efforts during the implantation, as gold filament is very fragile and malleable due to its high purity and thinness. The implantation can be done by following the directions of the sulks and deep wrinkles and below them, with the purpose of filling them up, or in a mesh shape to correct wider fields of little wrinkles or flaccid zones. The best results are obtained on face and neck. The first effects begin to appear in a month or even earlier, and they last around 5 years. The implantation can be repeated as many times as necessary.

How does it work?

With the GOLD: a “granulomatoide” reaction is produced characterized by the appearance of many elastic fibres around it and a neovascularity of the implantation area. This results in a rejuvenation of the skin in the implantation area.

Polyglycolic Acid (PGA): produces a minimum acute inflammatory reaction in tissue, followed by gradual connective tissue encapsulation of the suture and gradual loss of tension strength, with absorption as a result of hydrolysis. It is absorbed completely between 60 and 90 days.

Aftercare

• 24 hours later, the inmobilization should be removed
• Cortigo-Antibiotic pomade should be applied twice a day, during the first 5-6 days
• Antibiotic oral tract, of Amoxiciline type, should be applied during the first 4-5 days
• A Check should be done 7 days after the operation
